This book was written by Nazih Ghadban who has a wide knowledge in music, he is a graduate of the National Conservatory of Beirut and a music teacher in governmental schools for more than ten years.

Nazih Ghadban holds a degree in Arabic philosophy from the Lebanese University, and he is a oud manufacturer who gained wide popularity in the Arab world.

A unique book that took 25 years of continuous hard works in art of oud manufacturing. This book targets Arab musicians in general and students, teachers, amateurs, technical schools and workshops in particular. It reveals the fundamentals of oud manufacturing, how to choose the right instrument, take good care of it and how to fix minor problems in it.

The purpose of this book is to show the progress of the oud instrument over other electrical instruments such as guitars, bass etc… that began to conquer the Arab world. It takes the opportunity to show the evolution of Oriental music worldwide through the oud instrument. The oud was the friend of famous singers and composers like Zakaria Ahmed, Al Kasabji, Mohammed Abdul Wahab, Al Sinbati, Farid AL Atrach and Farid Ghossn the pioneers of Oriental Music. This book is a call for the unity of scales of the oud instrument in all Arab worlds; it aims to show the benefits and evolution of this instrument for the best.
